Now in its sixth edition, 3hd 2020 will act as a queer-feminist biotope created by Creamcake. "UNHUMANITY" deals with a system of human and non-human forces, built around an interconnected habitat of art, music, performance, digital culture, and its relationship to the more opaque idea of Nature Herself. The festival’s program is an expression of a transition between an untenable past and an uncertain future, while recognizing natural and technological actors as equal partners, and bringing its audience closer to a new model for an interspecies community.
In an era of climate change and pandemic, 3hd 2020 will implement a decentralized and dislocated festival structure across different locations around the globe. Los Angeles, Milan, and the woods of Norway, are just some of the nodes in the neural network of the extended ECO-centers organism, branching out from its usual base in Berlin. While there will still be events at HAU Hebbel am Ufer and Gallery at Körnerpark from November 3 to 7, Creamcake will commence their multidimensional program, online and IRL, starting on August 20 and running to January next year.

Steph Kretowicz is a writer, editor and journalist specialising in music, contemporary art and online culture. Writing appears in Flash Art, Dazed & Confused, Resident Advisor, The Fader and The Wire, as well as The Guardian, Somesuch Stories, and Oxford Artistic and Practice Based Research Platform, among others. Kretowicz is co-founder and editor of arts publication AQNB.com, presenter on the platform’s Artist Statement podcast and author of novel and cross-media narrative Somewhere I’ve Never Been, published by TLTRPreß and Pool in 2017. A number of interdisciplinary pieces around new media and distributed storytelling appear on digital commission platform Opening Times, as well as NTS Radio, Montez Press Radio and Berlin Community Radio. Kretowicz has also presented workshops, panels, screening presentations and performative multimedia readings at independent art spaces and institutions in London, Berlin, Tallinn, Helsinki, Los Angeles, New York, and elsewhere.
Ben Babbitt is a producer and composer working mainly within contemporary electronic music, performance, and scoring for visual media. The Los Angeles-based artist is known for creating the score for acclaimed video game Kentucky Route Zero, as well as feature film Paris Window, released by Not Not Fun in 2019. Babbitt’s work as both a solo artist and collaborator has been presented at the V&A Museum in London, the Art Institute of Chicago, SCI-ARC and Human Resources in Los Angeles, while in 2019 he was invited to present Overflows, a site-specific performance for four vocalists and quadraphonic electronics at the Getty Museum. Other projects include commercial work for Vogue, i-D Magazine, Chanel, and MOCA Los Angeles, mixes for NTS Radio and Dublab, and production for How to Dress Well, Tyler Matthew Oyer, and string arrangements and co-production on Angel Olsen’s 2019 album All Mirrors.
