XTC in the XIV

XTC in the XIV is a Stockholm-based vocal ensemble recreating sampled loops through a combination of song and live electronics. Consisting of Walter Berge, Em Silén, Hanna Andersson, Siri Anna Flensburg, Maja Kamne, and Elin Oskarsson, the group recreates loops of time-stretched, pitch-shifted samples and club music narrative conventions on early polyphonic choral arrangement.

Of its six members, Berge is a composer and sound technician with a background in mathematics and club music, and Silén is an improvisational musician and artist who studied electroacoustic composition, also known as rip ME. Flensburg is a vocalist with classical choral training, who is educated in folk music, along with Kamne who is also a versatile vocalist specializing in herding calls. Oskarsson is a classical vocalist working across various styles, including chamber music performance, and Andersson studied folk music and is active in pop and opera, with expertise in diverse vocal techniques.
