XD Erica is a São Paulo-based, Berlin-based DJ and performer whose passion for music stems from her familial influences, exploring a spectrum of Latin American-peripheral music, ranging from brazilian funk to techno, hard dance, and Latin core. Her approach to Black music is deeply rooted in familial connections with the Black Music balls her father and uncle organized in the aforementioned Brazilian capital during the 80s.
A co-founder of the Brazilian collective Chernobyl, XD Erica also navigates the realms of performance art with a focus on the complexities of her queer, black, and plus-sized identity within a society marked by illness and transphobia. Her performances serve as a poignant commentary on societal norms and the challenges faced by marginalized communities. Through her artistic endeavors, she sheds light on the need for greater inclusivity and acceptance of diverse bodies and identities, inviting viewers to reflect on these pressing social issues.
