MIRA新伝統 is an Athens-based art project consisting of electronic musician Raphael Leray and performer Honami Higuchi that produces immersive audio-visual performances. Their work intricately weaves theory-fiction, music, and performance art to craft narratives that explore otherness and envision non-capitalist, post-anthropocentric future mythologies.
Their latest release, Noumenal Eggs, delves into the concept evoked by Reza Negarestani's Cyclonopedia, where sentient geographical regions and demonic natural resources are their own autonomous entities. In searching for alternative futures and a new nature beyond the imagination, as defined by the late-k-punk cultural theorist Mark Fisher, Leray and Higuchi employ a ritualistic approach to prevent the disappearance of otherness into commodification.
