Makossiri is a Kenyan-born, Berlin-based producer and DJ who makes club music that defies genre limitations. Characterized by fast-paced rhythms that weave together elements of techno, noise, and experimental music with African polyrhythms, her work delves into themes of African futurism, identity, and the connection between the past and future, broadening the global narrative of music from the continent.

Releases include 2021's Juicy Juicy via Nyege Nyege Tapes sublabel Hakuna Kulala, and PEPEA (Afro FutureTech Vol. 1) dropped on Berlin’s Ginene Records in 2023. Taking its title from the word for "fly" in Swahili, that latest EP marks a turning point in Makossiri's sound whose experiments move toward fusing African rhythms with the harder edges of techno, punk, and noise.
