Ahya Simone
Ahya Simone is an eclectic and elusive siren from Detroit. As a harpist, composer, and filmmaker, the multidisciplinary artist traverses the world of sound, moving image, and performance. Ever since she began singing in a church choir as a child, her passion for music has only grown since she was introduced to the harp as a teen.
Drawing inspiration from her favorite contemporary artists, Simone began to mix RnB, soul, jazz, and experimental elements into her works and performances. These unique creations have precipitated collaborations with renowned artists such as Brian Jackson, Saul Williams, Shigeto, Kelela, and Juliana Huxtable, as well as membership in New York-based artist collective Pique.
Ahya Simone is participating in "The Pleasure of Pain."
