softchaos, aka Teresa Stout, is a Berlin-based DJ and multidisciplinary artist whose selections and performances aim to disrupt dance music’s codified boundaries through intention, sensitivity, and mischievous experimentation. Harnessing a punk ethos and techno reference, their sets and selections draw from New York City and Detroit’s classic landscapes, weaving techno, breaks, and rebellion into groove-driven narratives that embrace disobedience and reclamation.

Both thoughtful and commanding, softchaos has performed internationally at Barcelona’s Sónar Festival and Primavera Sound, Amsterdam Dance Event, and CTM Berlin, as well as club nights at RSO, Tresor, Fabric, Nitsa, and Razzmatazz, among others. Their versatility spans from playfully avant-garde festival sets to meticulous percussive club performances that offer transcontinental call-and-response to dancefloors everywhere.
