Holly Márie Parnell

Holly Márie Parnell is a Glasgow and Wexford-based artist-filmmaker working across film, expanded cinema, and live video performance. Her work explores ideas around connection and estrangement in the present moment. Interested in how change is felt, metabolized, or resisted, she is often drawn to stories where ambient and invisible structures of power are reshaping personal circumstances.

Parnell’s work has been presented internationally at Humber Gallery, Sirius Arts Centre, Cork Film Festival, and Hot Docs in Toronto, among others. Her debut single-channel film won a Berwick New Cinema Award and was the central film in aemi’s 2023 Irish national and international tour Súitú. She is an alumnus of Film London’s FLAMIN Fellowship, and an MFA graduate of the Slade.
