Genevieve Belleveau is known for her critically acclaimed relational and performative works. Taking the whole of everyday life as raw material, the relational artist transforms her experiences into critical, curious, and complicated social sculptures. Belleveau’s work encompasses live performance, objects, writing, video, photo, and new media investigations in work that, according to Art511 Mag, "slithers through some of the deepest grooves of the modern psyche".  

Her work has been featured in Artforum, WIRED, The New Yorker, Broadly, i-D, PAPER, BOMB, Art21, Art Papers, Artspace, AQNB, The Daily Beast, Playboy, LEAP Mag, Frieze, Jezebel and Rhizome.org. She has shown at Moma PS1, Ekebergparken, DAM Gallery, Vox Populi, Transfer Gallery, Eyebeam, VOGT Gallery, Witte de With Contemporary, Art In General, Garden LA and Lilith Performance Studio, among others. Belleveau currently resides in Los Angeles, and co-runs Sacred Sadism, a research project focused on hierarchies of power and plants.
