Magdalena Mitterhofer

Magdalena Mitterhofer is an Italian whose collaborative and often site-specific practice reflects on the conditions of artistic cooperation, problems with translation, character development and the use of language in corporate and private contexts. Mitterhofer graduated from Hito Steyerl’s lensbased class at UdK Berlin in 2019, while her videos, theater work and illustration playfully applies strategies of verbal and non-verbal communication, questioning the specific meaning of gestures and their allocation of value within society. She regularly works as a performer for other artists, is a member of the band Josie Haar Fanclub and her work has been exhibited at Trento’s Live Works, Centrale Fies, Futura Gallery Prague, TransArt Triennale, Villa Grisebach Berlin and Von der Heydt-Kunsthalle in Wuppertal, among others.
