The internet has brought the familiar and the unfamiliar closer together. Does this produce a common understanding between different positions? Or does it give birth to impenetrable filter bubbles and echo chambers? Do algorithms know things about ourselves that we don’t know? Are we really that easy to read and to satisfy? Or is there still a hidden secret within us, something that can never be revealed by algorithmic calculation?

"YOUR UNLIKELY FRIEND" is a 1 on 1 show, a human interaction as an algorithm. It challenges the idea of meeting like-minded people mediated through an algorithm by inverting the concept of match-making. We want to enable a meeting with an anti-friend, a person you-might-also-NOT-like. Max invites the spectators to individual short meetings, in which they encounter this persona they have never met before and will never meet again. The possibilities this encounter unfolds depend on the consent of the people present and will remain their secret.

“YOUR UNLIKELY FRIEND” will take place at different venues of the festival, details will be available in the venues, pre-booking is not necessary.
