In a special evening at Trauma Bar und Kino, London-based collective and label CURL founded by Mica Levi (aka Micachu), Coby Sey and Brother May presents their new project, a concert and short film called “Mayonnaise, Corn on the Cob and My Car”, produced in collaboration with director Akinola Davies Jr. (aka Crack Stevens). The latter artist and filmmaker examines themes such as origin, identity, skin color and socialization through the reproduction and re-contextualization of visual narratives, where the gaze of his subject often self-confidently leads into the camera, at times rambling back to the smartphone or the group.
Commissioned by and premiering during Videodroom at Vooruit, Gent. The interdisciplinary performance will have its German debut at 3hd.
