Neda Sanai

Neda Sanai is an Iranian Berlin-based artist, born in 1985 in Sweden. Their praxis moves through a hybrid of mediums such as audio, video, performance, and sculpture. Usually using collaboration and the community as a starting off point, Sanai in their work aims to disassemble the “I” -as in the singular person and the idea of “One” -as in shifting the “One” to the “We” -as in understanding. Sanai comes from a background of working with the art collective Basso and is the founder and curatorial director of project space S&yM in Berlin. Their artistic work emphasizes silence as the primary experience, making self-confrontation an access point into the artist’s world.
