umru

umru is a 20-year-old producer who appeared almost out of nowhere. His first co-production credit was on Charli XCX's landmark 2017 mixtape, “Pop 2”, after being recruited at age 18 by PC Music founder A. G. Cook to co-produce one of its highlight tracks, “I Got It”. The release quickly took umru from high school and the Soundcloud beat scene to DJ sets at the Los Angeles-based pop diva’s tour afterparties across the US and Europe, as well as collaborations with some of pop music's most experimental and forward-thinking acts.

The release of his debut EP, “search result”, via PC Music revealed umru’s ability to merge intense, bass-heavy production with both catchy and melancholy performances from a talented lineup of underground vocalists, including Banoffee, Lewis Grant and Ravenna Golden. The record was followed by three sold out events happening across the US, plays on BBC Radio 1 and Beats 1 Radio and features in Billboard, Paper Magazine and Hypebeast.
