James Richards

James Richards is a Cardiff-born artist whose video, sound and curatorial projects examine themes of Identity, desire and technology through archival research, found footage and extensive collaboration. Recent solo exhibitions have been held at Malmö Konsthall, Vienna’s Secession, Künstlerhaus Stuttgart, ICA London, Bergen Kunsthall, Hannover’s Kestnergesellschaft and Museum of Contemporary Art Bordeaux, as well as representing Wales at the 57th Venice Biennale. Richards was the recipient of the Ars Viva Prize in 2014, the Derek Jarman Award for film and video in 2012, and was a resident of the DAAD Berliner Künstlerprogramm in 2013.
