Farai

Farai, born in Zimbabwe, is a poet and musician who, as a teen, migrated to London where she attended the London School of Arts. She has contributed to a 2015 compilation also releasing her debut EP Kiswell in March, 2017 via African diaspora collective and label NON Worldwide. Inspired by the likes of Miriam Makeba, Oliver Mtukudzi, Charlie Parker, as well as the Beat Generation, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Naomi Campbell among others, and Howling Wolf, Farai believes that in order to make good work you need to push yourself/ Pushing others, challenging formalities, peers, government, leaders and interacting with community are all core values for the artist. Together with producer Basil Anthony Harewood aka TØNE, she hopes to merge her influences and the world of electronic, digital, neon sounds of the future.
