Aïsha Devi

Aïsha Devi’s music is informed by her spirituality and practice of meditation. Nothing seems to scare her, neither the fragmented dissolution of tribal music in her electronics nor the willfully ethnic bias of her musical approach, which underlines her Nepalese and Tibetan heritage. Aisha's music is an invitation to travel: her warped, at times throaty at other times soprano pop mantras reveal a complex musical universe that, intense and visceral, is full of industrial beats specifically tailored to the dance floor. On her own label “Danse Noire,” she released her debut album “Of Matter And Spirit,” an abstract techno exploration that is tinged with spirituality, twisted beats, and primal energy. The album’s title was inspired by a book written by her grandfather, a physicist who worked at CERN.
